The path to God these days is often misconstrued. People tell you that you only need to go to mass on Sunday, just be a kind person or treat others with respect. All of those are part of the staircase to heaven but not the whole picture. We first have to admit that we are sinners, even the Pope himself admits that he too is a sinner. Once we realize our sins, we then can take action to improve our goal of being in heaven with God. God knew his purpose for us from the moment we were in the womb. Once we realize that God is love, then we will live the life He has planned for us - rather than what we want in life. God created you for a purpose. Do not worry because God is there. If we start to worry, we start to think about our plans for our life rather than if we are living Gods plan. Living God's plan is the only way to get to heaven. If we truly live God's plan, then we would have no regrets because we are not promised tomorrow here on Earth. We can not change the past or predict the furture, only live here and now. Once we realize that it is God's life living through us, then we can see God in others. Since God is love, then we should show love to all the people we meet. We should show love even to the people that cause us harm. Hate does not negate hate, only love (God) can rid the world of the darkness, that is hate.
